Recent Reports have linked Alexis Sanchez with a move to Manchester City, with the reports suggesting that the Chilean Forward is high on City’s summer target’s list.
The 28 year old, who has 14 months left on his contract has shown no signs of extending a deal at Arsenal and links of a switch to Manchester City would see a reunion with former manager Pep Guardiola.
Sanchez worked under Guardiola at Barcelona, sharing a good relationship in the time that they spent together in Spain, which could be crucial in making the deal happen.
The Arsenal man already has 18 league goals this season, continuing to be a star player in the side and maintaining a status as one of the best players in the league.
After working with Sanchez in Barcelona, Guardiola will know all about Alexis and his ability as a player.
The former Barcelona boss has faced him twice already in the league this season, with two good performances, along an with assist in the game at the Etihad early on in the season.
Sanchez, who has become increasingly frustrated in North London, could be set to miss out on a top four spot this season, with Arsenal currently on a bad run of form and struggling.
The ongoing unrest of the future of Arsene Wenger has also created a strange atmosphere at Arsenal and after recent performances by the team Sanchez frustration has been clear on the pitch.
Arsenal play City at Wembley in an upcoming FA Cup semi final with a last chance for both sides to win some silverware, a game which will see Sanchez face Guardiola’s men one more time this season.
It would take a big money move in order for the deal to go ahead. However if Manchester City came in for the Chilean then Champions League football and Pep Guardiola could be the key factors with Arsenal finding it hard to keep hold of their main man.
