A game that had importance for both sides didn’t fail to live up to the expectations to an exciting and entertaining game.

Jose Mourinho set United with a back three which also saw Ander Herrera man mark Eden Hazard and Matteo Darmain man mark Pedro.

United won all their battles during the different phases of the game with United’s midfield keeping Kante quiet while Lingard and Rashford troubled Chelsea’s back 3 with their pace.

Jose’s side made a great start to the game with Rashford getting the opening goal of the game in the 7th minute after a great through ball from Herrera and Rashford beating the offside trap.

Man United had many chances in the first half to double their lead with Ashley Young having arguably the best of them with two shots on the edge of the box that was not able to test Begovic.

United’s back three were able to nullify Chelsea’s attack with Costa, Hazard and Pedro becoming frustrated.

Two minutes after the interval United were able to double their lead with Ander Herrera picking up a loose ball in the box and firing straight at goal with it taking a slight deflection but still on target.

Chelsea never really threatened in the second half and Jose brought on Ibrahimović, Carrick and Fosu- Mensah to help see united get the 3 points.

The defeat for Chelsea leaves them four points clear with 6 games to go.

The three points for United and Mourinho see them in 5th 4 points from the top four with 2 games in hand.

Jose, the players and fans will be hoping this result kicks them on, starting on Thursday in the Europa League.
